Anurag Kashyap is often in the news not just for his films but also for the anecdotes from his life that he often shares with the world. The actor-director is currently promoting his web series ‘Bad Cop’ which also stars Gulshan Devaiah in the lead role.
In a recent conversation with comedian Samay Raina, Anurag Kashyap narrated an incident where an uninvited stranger barged into his home and asked him to read a script.
“Once, a man came into my house. The doorbell rang, I opened the door and a man came in. He said, ‘Sir, please read my script’ and I asked, ‘Who are you?'” Kashyap recalled.
According to Anurag, the stranger continued to ask to read the script while the director questioned him about his identity. Anurag remembers the man saying that his father had died.
“I offered my condolences but told him that doesn’t mean he has to read the script,” Kashyap said. “I was quite outspoken and I ended up having to ask him to leave my house. This happens a lot,” the “Bad Cop” actor added.
In another interview with Instant Bollywood, Anurag was all praise for Gulshan Devaiah and spoke about his favourite performance by the actor. He said, “For me, Gulshan Devaiah’s best performance is in Mard Ko Dard Nahi Hota. His transformation, his entire performance was something I never expected and never would have guessed as there was a time when I was associated with that film as a producer.”
Anurag, who has known Gulshan Devaiah for many years, recounted the incident when he first met him. “Gulshan Devaiah. When I decided to cast him in the film and saw him as a person for the first time, I saw him dancing to Bachchan songs with Kalki. Kalki and he are friends and I used to dance to Bachchan songs on my terrace. That’s how I remember it. He also does fashion and you can see his personality as he doesn’t always approve of my fashion.”
