Recent reports have been circulating that Vashu Bhagnani’s Pooja Entertainment is facing losses of Rs 250 crore. Amid these concerns, Bhagnani revealed that Akshay Kumar had recently called him to confirm the online reports. Kumar reassured Bhagnani that there was nothing to worry about and assured his continued support for the production house.
Vashu Bhagnani told ANI on Wednesday that Akshay was the first to reach out to him, encouraging him not to worry and offering his unconditional support. Bhagnani also received calls from Sunny Deol, Sunil Shetty and long-time friend David Dhawan and was deeply touched by their unwavering loyalty during this time.
He expressed his deep love for the film industry and called it his life. Bhagnani pointed out that the film industry is filled with extremely empathetic people who are very supportive of each other.
Recently, media reports have suggested that Pooja Entertainment, owned by Vashu Bhagnani and Jackky Bhagnani, has been suffering heavy losses due to a string of failed films. According to a Bollywood Hungama report, Vashu has sold Pooja Entertainment’s seven-storey office building to repay debts of Rs 250 crore. The report further details that the proceeds from the sale are being used to repay debts and also breaks the news that the production company will be reducing its workforce by 80 percent.
Vash clarified the situation by saying the building in question is being redeveloped and mentioned rumours that it will be sold for debt restructuring. He urged staff members to contact Pooja Entertainment directly with the appropriate contracts and legal documents regarding claims of unpaid wages. Vash stressed that the company will resolve issues through constructive dialogue rather than complaints on social media and promised to address concerns within a reasonable timeframe. He also mentioned their association with a UK production company and advised the plaintiffs to contact them directly if they are owed any monies.
Known as one of the oldest production houses, Pooja Entertainment has backed a host of films including ‘Coolie No. 1’, ‘Hero No. 1’, ‘BellBottom’, ‘Biwi No. 1’, ‘FALTU’, ‘Jawaani Jaaneman’ and ‘Rehan Hai Dil Mein’.
